My Therapeutic Approach
Welcome to a space where the support you receive is as unique as you are. My approach is rooted in the belief that each young person is different, and so is their journey. That’s why I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to support and guide each individual in the way that best suits their needs.
I am an Integrative Therapist, meaning I am trained to use various therapeutic modalities and skills to support each young person. As part of this approach, I offer play-based therapy, which supports children in expressing their thoughts and feelings in safe and healthy ways. I integrate other approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and Person-Centred approaches.
I’m here to offer more than just therapeutic techniques—I’m here to offer a connection. I work with warmth, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude, holding space for any young person to explore their feelings and experiences in a safe, ethical environment. As a therapist with a modern and fresh perspective, I bring a warm, ‘human’, welcoming vibe to every session.
My approach is also systemic, which means I understand that young people don’t exist in isolation. I work with the whole family, recognising the importance of supporting not just the individual, but the entire system around them. Together, we can create a nurturing environment that promotes growth and healing for everyone involved. This is where parental coaching and family support comes in.
Therapy with me is about more than just addressing problems— we will consider areas of difficulties and ways to cope with these challenges, but also discover strengths, build resilience, and aim to create a sense of self that can thrive in the world.
Whatever your story, wherever you’re starting from, I’m here to walk alongside your family on this journey.
The Therapy Room
Luisa conduct’s sessions both online and in person. If sessions are held in person, this takes place in St Albans, AL1 location.
Every child is invited to the therapy room to simply be themselves. This space is more than just a room—it's a sanctuary of safety, empathy, and comfort, designed to be both soothing and stimulating. Soft colors and cozy furnishings create a calming atmosphere, while shelves filled with carefully selected toys, books, and art supplies invite children to explore and express themselves freely.
The resources available offer a variety of activities that cater to each child’s unique needs. Whether they’re building with lego, painting , or running their fingers through sand, they’ll find resources that encourage creativity, play, and personal growth.
Here, children are free to explore their emotions and experiences, with gentle guidance to help them navigate their thoughts and feelings. This is a space where they can talk, play, and just be, knowing they are valued, understood, and respected.
In this nurturing environment, we create a bond of trust and understanding, allowing each child to feel safe and supported on their journey/ This is their space—a place where they can truly be themselves and find joy in the process.
